As America changes so does the Latino sound

Bruised Sinatra is a Mexican-American power pair from Austin, Texas.
Sister and brother, Virginia and Pablo Lopez,  make up Bruised Sinatra.
As they tell La Prensa Presents host Jeannie Ramirez, their father played classical guitar and was their biggest influencer.
Kyle Biergarten, the Tap Room manager,  adds in the interview that the establishment began with a soft opening on February 18, 2018. They serve a lot of lagers and ales in the traditional style.
Owner, Jeff Willis, is from Houston, Tx, and moved to Austin in ’92 working as a mechanic and moonlighting as a bar tender and dj in the area. In 2010 in Colorado, he opened a successful beer bar that ranked top 20 in the nation. Then he sold it and moved to Austin where he opened Tap Room, one of Austin’s only family and female owned breweries.
Andres Dre Tovar, a Bruised Sinatra fan, was excited to listen to the duo for the first time and visit Tap Room.
Kyle goes on to describe part of the beer brewing process.
Jeannie introduces Virginia and Pablo Lopez of Bruised Sinatra and recalls the first time she heard their music when Virginia was in the band Something Called Nothing and being “blown away” by her music.
The sibling duo started playing music at an early age. Pablo was part of another band, then took some time off for family.
Years later, brother and sister reunited with music being a big part of their bond.
Pablo started playing the stand up bass which inspired the musical team to begin composing.
In it’s acoustic form, their music has a lot of apparent Hispanic influences. This contrasts their former rock and roll style. Their music also takes into account classical styles of stringed instruments such as the guitarron.
As a youth, Virginia was taught to play guitar in the classical style by her father on a bet. She won the bet and went on to instruct Pablo on the bass.
They will have a Selena song in the evening’s performance which Virginia finds “challenging and fun.”
Virginia and Pablo are having a good time in their band and taking things slowly.
Jeannie lists some of the reasons people go into professionally performing. Virginia comments that she and Pablo became performers to have a good time. Music has become something that they are constantly drawn to throughout the mundane activities of life.
They try to keep their band stress-free. That same sentiment seems to carry over their fans and family through their music.
Friends and fans of Bruised Sinatra were happy to hear and enjoy their music.
