A Federal Appeals court stopped the federal government from destroying a 29 mile fence of razor wire that Texas installed along the U.S. -Mexico border near Eagle Pass, Texas to deter migrants from entering the U.S illegally. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans issued a 2-1 opinion that reversed a lower court’s ruling that had granted Texas a limited preliminary injunction against the federal government. America Garcia Growl, an organizer with the Eagle Pass Border Coalition, called the wire “a tool of war, not a humane border control measure.”
