The Mexican-American Film & Television Festival will honor Selena producer Moctezuma Esparza with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

This year’s Illustrious Lifetime Achievement Award recipient is Moctesuma Esparza. He is an award-winning producer of the hit film Selena. Oscar-nominated actor Edward James Olmos and Director Luis Valdez will present the award.

This year’s Mexican-American Film & Television Festival will be screening over 40 features, short films, and television pilots. These films and pilots showcase Mexican-Americans’ unique stories and culture in America. This is an important event for aspiring filmmakers, as it is a place where new talent can be discovered. The festival also provides a networking opportunity.

The Mexican-American Film & Television Festival promotes positive and accurate portrayals of people of Mexican descent. The goal is to change the negative narrative about Mexican Americans. The Mexican-American Cultural Education Foundation produces this festival. In addition, they want to inspire new filmmakers. Latinos are one of the largest groups in the United States.

The Illustrious Awards will be given to filmmakers in eight categories, including Best Director, Best Feature Film, and Best TV Series. The awards will be based on the work of judges who are very experienced in the film industry. The event will be star-studded with a red carpet, and it will take place on May 15.

Two independent films have elevated the image of U.S. Latinos that will be screened soon. The first film, Luminarias, was written by Evelina Fernandez and directed by Jose Luis Valenzuela. It will be screened on May 14 at 6 PM. The second film, Walkout, was produced by Moctesuma Esparza.

The three films which received the 2021 MACEF Production Grants of $10,000 each will be screened.
