The Administration’s plan to rescind Title 42 is an essential step toward creating a more fair, orderly, and humane immigration system. This starts with giving people access to asylum at the border again.
Today, some lawmakers are trying to pass a law against what President Biden and the CDC found. They say that we don’t need the policy to protect public health, but this law would put asylum seekers and predominantly Black and LGBTQIA people at risk.
RAICES condemns the hypocrisy of the U.S. government in its treatment of Ukrainian migrants compared to migrants from other countries. The U.S. has shown that it is willing to welcome Ukrainian migrants with open arms, while Black and brown migrants face hostility and discrimination. RAICES calls on the government to treat all people seeking safety equally
RAICES is asking Congress to protect people looking for safety at the border. They are requesting that Congress does not pass any law that will take away the rights of these people. People fleeing danger in their home countries have a legal right to come to the United States for safety.
RAICES urges supporters to call Congressional Democrats to block all attempts to extend Title 42.
