After watching so many great movies on Netflix, La Prensa has created a list of our favorites. We must highlight Latinx films because watching movies that show characters we can identify with makes it more engaging. So here is the list. Enjoy!

The story of Awake is about a mother who will do anything for her children. But, it’s also about a world that can’t sleep and the people trying to find a cure. The movie is suspenseful and thrilling, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you’re looking for an entertaining and thought-provoking film, Awake is a perfect choice.
2) I care a lot
Tricking older people into giving up their homes is a terrible thing to do. But sometimes, people will do anything for money. Fran and Marla are two of those people. They’re con artists posing as compassionate caretakers, preying on the elderly and taking everything they have. But when they meet a woman whose son isn’t going to let them get away with it, Marla starts to rethink the entire operation. She soon realizes that Fran may not be as loyal as she seemed.

Sofia Carson plays April in the movie. April is a young dancer who wants to become famous. However, something terrible happens, and she has to go back home to Wisconsin. There, she is offered to be the coach of the New Hope dance team. At first, she says yes because she needs the money. But then the kids show her that there is more to life than being famous.
4) Someone Great
Jenny is very excited to get a new job with Rolling Stone magazine. But her boyfriend of nine years breaks up with her just before she’s set to leave New York City. So Jenny decides to spend her last days in the city with her best friends. But she also wants to try and talk to her ex-boyfriend one last time.
5) Vampires Vs. The Bronx
The movie is set in the Bronx, New York City. The story is about some people trying to save their neighborhood from vampires. They do this by using things like garlic and holy water to stop the vampires from hurting people. The movie is a comedy horror, so it is meant to be funny and scary at the same time.
